North-East India lie deep in the lap of easternmost Himalayan hills in north-eastern part of India. Connected to rest of India by merely 20 km of wide land, the North-East India shares over 2,000 km of border with Bhutan, China, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

The most divergent and colourful dressing, cultures and life style of big numbers of tribes with enchanting music of flutes and drums welcomes you all to the Northeast, where from we work for the subject of ENT, Head & Neck surgery under the banner of NEBAOI.

The ENT surgeons of North East had assembled in Guwahati in March 1970 under the leadership of Dr. S.N. Sharma Ex-Principal of Gauhati Medical College. But the First Conference with participation of all ENT Surgeons from North East Region was organised in May, 1985 in Gauhati Medical College. The second conference was held in April 1985 in Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh – where the North Eastern Branch of Association of Otolaryngologists of India (NEBAOI) was formed. The third conference was held on 5th & 6th April1988 at Silchar Medical College under the able leadership Principal Dr. C. Das with participation by many ENT Luminaries of India.
