RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE ASSOCIATION OF OTOLARYNGOLOGISTS OF INDIA

1. Name of the Society        : The Association of Otolaryngologists of India,
                                                   North Eastern Branch

2. Address                              :29, M.G. Road, Christanbasti, Dispur, Guwahati - 05

3. Area of Operation            : North East India

4. Objects:

i) To have a common platform to exchange views, experiences to develop and promote    fellowship, etc. among the Otolaryngologists of this part of the country.
ii) To ventilate common grievances for their amelioration.
iii) To hold scientific discussions by presenting papers on problems of otolaryngology.
iv) By doing such other activity as may be necessary and or helpful to the attainment of aims and objectives pertaining to the branch for local interest

5.Membership:

i) Qualification:

a) Life Members-Should be qualified E.N.T. Registered Practitioners.
b) Associate Members-Those belonging to other specialty but interested in E.N.T.
c) Honorary Member-Those who have special contribution or service to E.N.T.

ii) Subscription

Enrolment fees Rs.50/-(Fifty only)
Life membership fees Rs.1500/-(Fifteen Hundred only)
Associate Membership Fees Rs.150/-(One hundred only) yearly.

6.Procedure of General Meeting:
The General Body meeting shall be held once year unless the executive committee by a majority resolves otherwise.

7.Quorum :
The quorum of the General Body meeting shall be formed by 1/3 of the total members present.

8. Election of executive Committee:
The Vice Present, Executive Body Members (seven) are elected
Yearly.Hon.Sec, Hon Treasurer, Editor are elected every two years.

 9.Executive Committee:

i) The Executive Committee shall consists of the following members:

1.Past President                    -1
2.President                            -1
3.Vice President                   -1
4.Tresurer                              -1
5.Secretary                             -1
6.Editor                                  -1
7.Executive Members          -7
                                     Total-13

ii) The Executive Committee shall be constituted by General Body in its General Meeting.

10. The term of the Executive Committee shall be for one year - The Vice President, Executive Body Members (seven) are elected yearly.Hon.Sec., Hon.Treasurer,Editor are elected every two years.

11. Procedure of Re-Election of Members of the Executive Body:
The Vice President, Executive Body Members (seven) are elected yearly. Hon.Sec. , Hon. Treasurer, Editor and Editorial Board Chairman are elected every two years in the General Body meeting by the life Members.

12. Procedure of meeting of the executive body-They shall meet at least once in a year.
